Lessons I Learned From Relativity

What is Relativity?  Time!   Wouldn’t you like more of it in a day?

Think of all the things that you could get done. Or would you? Do you utilize your time wisely and good use of it.  We all wish we had more time with loved ones who pass away, or having that sunny day walk in the park. If you ever worked and had the weekend off, didn’t you want more time to enjoy?

When you work for yourself, you need to have time management on your side. You need to learn to schedule your day, so the things you want to get done, DO.  Today I had the Idea to write about time and space. In other words, “Relativity”; this was inspired by Lynda Hill from her Friday prompt challenge.

Study of Relativity

  • Finding out the study of relativity is quite fascinating.

I found a few studies on what Albert Einstein came up with. So today here is a quick science lesson and a few links to let you read more:

Albert Einstein was famous for many things, but his greatest thing that came out of his brain is the theory of relativity. It forever changed our understanding of space and time.  What is relativity? Succinctly put, it is the notion that the laws of physics are the same everywhere. We here on Earth obey the same laws of light and gravity as someone in a far off corner of the universe.

The universality of physics means that history is provincial. Different viewers will see the timing and spacing of events differently. What for us is a million years may just be a blink of an eye for someone flying a high speed rocket or falling into a black hole.

This can be categorized into two pieces:

    Special relativity
Special relativity came first and is based on the speed of light being constant for everyone. That may seem simple enough, but it has far-reaching consequences.
Einstein came to this conclusion in 1905 after experimental evidence showed that the speed of light didn’t change as the Earth swung around the Sun.
There were contradictory versions that became apparent because of the rulers and clocks — the things that mark time and space — are not the same for different observers. If the speed of light is to be held constant as Einstein said, then time and space cannot be absolute; they must be subjective.

    General relativity
Einstein wasn’t done upsetting our understanding of time and space. He went on to generalize his theory by including acceleration and found that this distorted the shape of time and space.
Imagine the spaceship speeds up by firing its thrusters. Those on board will stick to the ground just as if they were on Earth. Einstein claimed that the force we call gravity is indistinguishable from being in an accelerating ship.

  • Why Time Cannot go backwards

“Time is what keeps everything from happening at once,” wrote Ray Cummings in his 1922 science fiction novel “The Girl in the Golden Atom,”

But how does time stop everything from happening at once? What mechanism drives time forward, but not backward? Have you ever thought, if I could just do that over again?
Traditionally, time is described by the “past hypothesis” that assumes that any given system begins in a low entropy state and then, driven by thermodynamics, its entropy increases. What they are saying is:: The past is low entropy and the future is high entropy, a concept known as thermodynamic time asymmetry.

Time in a Day

As I look back on my day, I really got a lot done. It was very productive and I really feel good about what I did. I cannot say that about every day. Yes, I too can procrastinate and be lazy.  What does that do?

It just makes the next day harder, because then you are playing catch up. I am one who believes in to-do lists, and schedules. Even when you have your own business where you only work half a day; in order to be productive and do your job right, you need to what needs to be done.

It would be great to have more time once in a while, but if you think about it, everyone is in the same time and space.  Don’t forget to share your time and space!

Make the most of the time you have.
Sandy

P.S. Leave me a comment and see how you can handle your time.

I’m amazed, I have to admit. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and
interesting, and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head.

The problem is something that too few people are speaking intelligently about.
Now i’m very happy that I found this during my search for something regarding this.
