Who knows the tricks of the trade?
The excitement is in the air and we all want to be included. Whether you know the game or not, you can get caught up in all the buzz.
Basketball is just one type of event that can be competitive. You train, practice, you learn what is needed to be a winner. You put what you learned into play and work hard to get it right.
Is your business and life run that way?
If you have ever participated in a sporting event then you know that it is not just fate that got you there. Think about when you started. Did your parents want you to play when you were little? Or did you see others doing it and thought I can do that, look how easy it is!
For me, I played when I was young, it was exercise and going to a small school everyone had a chance to play. It got a little more competitive when my children were old enough to play.
I had them in everything from the age of six. There was little league baseball, pee wee basketball and of course soccer. I wanted them to get a feel for what they were good at. I wanted them to know the feeling of winning, yet know that losing is ok and you need to take it and learn how to grow from it.
When I started my business the leaders made it seem so easy. I thought I can do that! They would guide you and give you the steps, they would show you what you needed to do and then say “do it”!
Is Success Easy
Yeah right, I know what some of you are thinking. They said “Easy”? It should work that way. For me it wasn’t quite that simple. I would try this and I would try that. It is not a natural thing for me. It takes practice and hard work to get into the flow. I had to study and use trial and error to get where I am today.
I wasn’t that natural athlete either, not like my daughter, but I was there, I knew how to motivate and how to keep going. It is all in your mindset. It is all in the way you present yourself.
“Law #30. Make your accomplishments seem effortless.
Your actions must seem natural and executed with ease. All the toil and practice that go into them, and also all the clever tricks, must be concealed. When you act, act effortlessly, as if you could do much more. Avoid the temptation of revealing how you work it only raises questions. Teach no one your tricks or they will be used against you.”
This law says that a sudden appearance of what you see for man has to be created through labor and contrivance. Your planning must look natural and your tricks must be hidden. Nature has many secrets that we as humans have been trying to prove. We all want to know how it works and how it is.
Not all of us can be magicians or great escape artists, but we can learn whatever we truly want if we truly want to have it.
How bad is your desire?
To be good at anything it takes hard work and practice. It takes the resilience to keep going and truly want it. If things, anything is not going your way, step back look at you game plan, take the time out. Make your adjustment and go back in the game with confidence.
The trick to winning is to outsmart the other team, to know the tricks to the game and practice them so they become natural. Make others awe at your power, your sudden appearance, like the lightning in the sky and graceful, like the speed and ferocity of a wild animal.
When you let this information out you give people ideas, you lose the advantage of keeping them silent. You want your hard work and cleverness applauded and may even want sympathy for your hard work.

There can be drawbacks to this very law!
The secret is which you surround your actions can have a very unpleasant outcome and can tend to make on lookers turn the other way. You take what you do to seriously that you hide your insights and drive yourself mad if another does the same thing.
Learn how to balance.
P.T. Barnum recognized that his public wanted to be involved in his show. They appreciated his humor and honesty. The trick is to keep the balance of disclosure and not make it look like you want to blab about what you know. It will keep your audience involved and engaged in what you have to offer.
I know a great many people who have done this very thing. They have shown the world that by teaching and giving their followers the tools to succeed, many have changed their lives. They have shown us that by sharing our passions and telling others what we know, someone in this big wide world will benefit.
