How to Spend Hours a Day Being Happy

When we write our blogs we are mainly centered around our passion, your passion is what makes you happy, and it is part of your “Why”.  When I am Happy I could spend hours a day at it.

What is it that you write about?

     What makes you happy?

Tulips and Spring Makes Me Happy

Being a mom and a wife for as many years as I have been, you tend to put your passion aside to take care of your household. I have come to realize that is not all that bad, that is what I like to do, and I would do it all over again.  However, I have learned to understand what my “Why” and “happiness” is!

What makes you happy?

Here is a test that I found to see what makes you happy. Follow it and see how close they are. I was kind of surprised at the answer based on some of the weird questions. Answer truthfully and see for yourself.

https://psychologies.co.uk/tests/what-makes-you-happy.html

This is how my answer came out

“You’re an achiever

You feel happiest when you have achieved something that you have been working towards, whether it’s a material or personal goal. But it’s not all about you… happiness also comes when you have helped someone else to feel happy, for example, playing with your children or watching your friends enjoy themselves at a party you’ve organized. You like to feel emotionally connected to the people and things around you. Be careful that you don’t rely too much on material things, and that you don’t become dissatisfied and unhappy when you fail to achieve your goals. Instead, recognize and celebrate the fact that your love of achievement can be a powerful source of energy, and one that can spur you into creativity.”

Here is another way to make you happy.  Smiling.”  Have you ever not smiled when you see someone else smile?   It can be contagious. Kind of like yawning. Try it yourself, smile at everyone you come across.   See what happens.

Be Happy and learn how to smile.

1) Imagine a joyful situation. Leading neuroscientist Andrew Newberg suggests visualizing someone you love deeply or recalling an event that brought you deep satisfaction and joy will help to make your smile more genuine. Equally, you may want to think of a joke or situation that made you laugh.

2) Practice smiling in front of the mirror. Practice activating both corners of your mouth and your eye sockets. You will know when your smile is genuine because you will feel happy and relaxed.

3) Concentrate on your eyes. Cover the lower part of your face with a piece of paper. When your eyes are smiling, really concentrate on what muscles are working and why, and remember this each time you smile. Try to engage these muscles each time you smile, even if you feel the smile scenario is ‘fake’.

4) Mark how happy you feel. As you practice your smile, on a scale of one to ten, gauge how happy smiling with just your mouth makes you feel. Then do the same, but smile with your eyes. At the beginning of the month, mark on the same scale how happy you are feeling in general. Over the month, try to smile with your eyes in each smile scenario you come across, then after a month, mark how happy you are feeling now.

I took the short test and I am an Individualist! The description was spot on! Basically, I am most happy when I am sort of removed. Where I can sit back and watch the comings and goings on around me, but am able to be in what is going on when the desire hits me.
    Wonderful! Thanks

    Hey Sandy

It can take work to remember to be happy. Sometimes, when life throws in a curved ball, I think we all take time out from feeling our best and forget to smile as much! I do believe that what we reflect out is reflected straight back at us.

Smiling? Just do it as much as you can!!!

Great Post ! I love being happy 🙂 Do what you love to do and give it your very best. Whether it’s business or baseball, or the theater, or any field. If you don’t love what you’re doing and you can’t give it your best, get out of it. Life is too short. You’ll be an old man or woman before you know it.

Thanks Sandy for this post. I tried the test you shared and got the same result “Achiever” which doesn’t surprise me actually.
