What Strange Thing Did You Say Today?

Remember, Yet not.  We all have moments when we say something and go “What?”  where did that come from or why would I say something like that.   Yet again your brain works in wondrous ways.  What strange thing did you say!

Strange Things

As turning points in our lives happen, it’s our memory that takes us on our travels.  It gets us to where we want to go, and guides us on our tasks.  In otherwords, it helps us not do the things we already overcame.

But can you remember what it was that you were remembering or needed to remember?  We don’t want to admit that our loved ones or ourselves are missing parts of our memory.  Most just brush it aside and think they have a lot on their mind that they can’t remember everything.  Not so in every case.    It’s not always the place to brush it off.

“We forge the chains we wear in life.” Charles Dickens

I have been doing some studying on Alzheimer’s and Dementia lately to help a loved one and to help myself deal with this horrible condition. It’s not a disease it’s a condition.  .

To really get to know more about this condition and how to help yourself this article is really good at explaining the stages that most go through.

The Stages of Dementia

Progressive dementia, which is dementia that gets worse with time, is the most common type. Five stages of progressive dementia have been outlined. They are part of the Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR), which professionals use to evaluate the progression of symptoms in patients with dementia.
The five stages describe a patient’s ability to perform in six different areas of cognition and functioning: orientation, memory, judgment, home and hobbies, personal care, and community.
Stage 1.  No Impairment
Stage 2.  Questionable Impairment
Stage 3.  Mild Impairment
Stage 4.  Moderate Impairment
Stage 5.  Severe Impairment

“We avoid the things that we’re afraid of because we think there will be dire consequences if we confront them.  But the truly dire consequences in our lives come from avoiding things that we need to learn about or discover.”   Shakti Gawain

There are 8 core principles to follow to have a great life and anything your do.  When you follow them it can be amazing how productive you can be and how much growth there is around you.    One of them is to eat right and exercise.    Funny thing.  Isn’t that something your doctor tells you to do anyway.

By following these principles and eating right, flows right along with this next article.  Getting the recommended daily nutrition.

Best Ways to Help Your Memory

For young and older people alike, it’s valuable to get your dietary vitamins from the food you eat. Supplements can fill in the gaps, but check with your doctor before you go over the recommended daily intake.

No matter your age, the best way to prevent against future and existing memory decline is to eat well and exercise your body as well as your brain, advises Marshall. He highly recommends the Mediterranean diet as a good source for all the vitamins your body needs.

“Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today”  James Dean

Remembering is a good thing.  Finding ways to help you do that will give you that fighting chance and strengthen from within.

Another core commitment that we have is to read everyday.  Did you know that is a great brain exercise?  Making the mind comprehend and study is what helps us learn and lifts our spirits to pull us away from the bad and suffering.
