Define Empathy | How Empathy Is Important In Making Your Blog Great

How Empathy Is Important In Making Your Blog Great.  Have you ever been in a place where you needed use Empathy? Writing a blog is where Empathy is one of the most important aspects to making your blog great.  So lets define what empathy is.

Empathy is the experience of understanding another person’s condition from their perspective. You place yourself in their shoes and feel what they are feeling. Empathy is known to increase pro-social (helping) behaviors.  Keys to a successful life

Important Empathy

While American culture might be socializing people into becoming more individualistic rather than empathic, research has uncovered the existence of “mirror neurons,” which react to emotions expressed by others and then reproduce them.  Can you reach out and relate? Let’s get the empathy back and give the world a hug.

What is: Self Image With Empathy Mapping

Be Together

Hold One Another

Understand One Another

Don’t try to fix it all.

Lessons to come from Empathy.

You will be more likely to treat the people you care about the way they wish you would treat them.

You will better understand the needs of people around you.

You will more clearly understand the perception you create in others with your words and actions.

You will understand the unspoken parts of your communication with others.

You will better understand the needs of your customers at work.

You will be able to more accurately predict the actions and reactions of people you interact with.

You will learn how to motivate the people around you.

You will more effectively convince others of your point of view.

You will experience the world in higher resolution as you perceive through not only your perspective but the perspectives of those around you.

You will find it easier to deal with the negativity of others if you can better understand their motivations and fears.

You will be a better leader, a better follower, and most important, a better friend.

Galatians 6 New International Version (NIV)
Doing Good to All
6 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3 If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. 4 Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, 5 for each one should carry their own load.

In this article Chad Fowler gives you a way to practice Empathy.

……..By Listening
……..Watching and Wondering
……..Know your enemies
……..Choosing the other Side

Why do they call it empathy mapping? It reminds you and helps you focus on what it is that others want and feel.  To make your blog great and have a large following, it is good to know your readers. It is good to know your audience. You need to create the skill of Empathy!

Here are a few pointers and then go here and read more on the Empathy Map.  To be a great blogger you need to be able to identify the pain and find a solution.  In this world of learning how to be social, interact, share and do business online, we tend to forget that if you are not targeting the right people in the right way, you might as well stop beating yourself up and give up.

To start and get a better understanding of where the empathy map can lead you;  you need to create an Avatar.  (fake person) Write a story on their day, walk in their shoes and get to know them.  So by now you have it down.   Let’s go out and see how you are.  Have you given someone a hug today?

That is one thing that people forget. They get wound up in what they are doing and forget other people have problems too.

I like that you mentioned moccasins. My mom grew up next to an Indian Reservation and I always wore moccasins.

Great post, Sandy. My mother used to tell my sister and I to always walk a mile in someone else’s moccasins before judging them. Love the Empathy Map and the tips you gave.

Oh Barbara, I am right there with you. As I get busier I do forget to be kind. This was a great reminder for me too. Lets make the world a better place and learn how to slow down at little when we are dealing with others.

I’m usually empathetic, but not as much as I’m getting older. It’s not age, but how busy I am. I need to regain that empathy and devote more time to other people than I have been — beginning with Hubby. But I do give him several hugs every day.
