Steps To Translating And Framing Your Language

What Steps Do You Take To Translate And Frame Your Language

How do you create a purpose of taking attention off what is causing the problem and refocusing it to the positive.  You Frame Your Language for the situation.

1   Identify what it is you are trying to do.  The problem you are solving and how to do it.

2.   Select a phenomena.

3.   Frame and aim a suggestion.   Sometimes all it takes is to frame it out with a few extra words.

ex:  “Please call if you change your plans”   vs “Will you call us if you change your plans”

Re-Framing

First we are going to start with the processing methods.  How does our brain deal with the things that we see and hear during the day?  As we go through life we learn more and more as new things come along.  We tend to delete things unconsciously that we are not focusing on.

We jump around and skip over most of what we see.  Another thing we conscientiously do is distort them.   We all process things differently and how we interpret things is how we tend to respond.

This explains a lot about why my husband and I hear things differently, or he takes what I say all wrong!

ex:  “Rebecca, you’ll like this band.”   vs  “Rebecca, is it okay if I play some music that I like?  I think you’d like it too, but tell me if you want to change it.”

Next is how we generalize things.  A great book to help you see this better is. “Drawing on the Right Side Of The Brain”.

or

The Power of Framing: Creating the Language of Leadership

Fairhurst shows that the way leaders use language to frame people, situations, and events has important consequences for the way individuals make sense of the world and their actions.

How Translating and Framing Language Come With Age

When kids are little they look at everything.  They look at the details and analyze this and that in full color.  Adults through…… they stop looking at detail, they stop analyzing it and seeing all the true colors it has to offer.

Not at a fault of their own, but it’s because they have seen it once and they know it, so they think.

Now The Levels of Experience With Managing Leadership Language.

The I am statements.  What do you believe or create to believe?

Beliefs and values.   If your beliefs are out of wack, then you will not do the things you need to do.

In the working world a negative belief has been created.   “If you work hard it will take you away from your family.”.    Most people think that to really make it big, it takes a lot of time, and that means you can’t be there for your family.   Family time is fun time.

The myth is being totally destroyed.  The world of online businesses has brought the family all together for work and play.

Capabilities.    Learn how to stretch your imagination.   Are you limiting yourself?     Here is a post that I wrote about imagination.

Behaviors.   Are you acting powerful and rich or are you acting poor?

Environment.

When you take a person and change where they are and the atmosphere around them their whole attitude and belief system changes.

Where do you start when you need a change?   Do we change who we are or the way we communicate?

Frame your message:

1. Make sure your language is appropriate.

2. Create thought(s) or reflection(s) = mental model(s) that are meaningful.

3. Use forethought = get the person (people) “ready” to communicate with you. Prime them.

What is framing?

… the union of thought and word.

… ability to make sense of a subject.

… the ability to judge a subject’s character.

… the ability to judge a subject’s significance.

… the ability to choose one meaning (or a set of meanings) over another.

… the ability to share with others OR manage meaning and make it more meaningful, more noticeable, more memorable.

… the ability or power to distort meaning by creating a bias and excluding other aspects.

 Keys to Translate and Frame

–You need a framing goal  (times) a specific Context (that will equal) a Communication Goal–

It starts with a question, then defines by how people think, or what people expect to get to the final destination.

In our program we set this out in a twelve step system to help you understand it better.

1. Capture Attention

2.  Rapport

3.   Credibility

4.   Target a Problem

5.  Give a Solution

6.  Set Expectations

7.  Social Proof

8.  Benefits

9.  Irresistible offer

10.  Risk Reversal

11.  Scarcity

12.  Clear Call To Action

Framing makes it a belief change.   How to tell the same story over and over, but then just tell what it means, and see the reaction.   Change the outcome, and set a goal.

This is

……How we process things

……How we distort things

……How we come to our own conclusion and forget to look at the details.

Your Brain is big enough,  lets keep learning.

If you have ever wondered why people run when you speak then maybe you need to look at how we said what we say.
