Don’t Let Me Down | Remember To Put The Glass Down

How do you handle your life?   We all seem to go on everyday, mostly not even noticing the things around us.   And as we get caught up in the stress of the to-do list;  by the end of the day we keep asking, “don’t let me down“.   What we need to say is “Remember to put the glass down“!

Don’t let me down at the end of the day

Do you set your goals to high that you feel let down by the end of the day?

Does it stress you out so your sleep patterns are off?

Do you expect to much of yourself, that you don’t get anything else done?

I am here to tell you to STOP doing that!

Here are some quote that may help you think a little different.

“Much of the stress that people feel doesn’t come from having too much to do. It comes from not finishing what they’ve started”   David Allen

“The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.”  William James

“The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one”.  Elbert Hubbard

“In times of stress, the best thing we can do for each other is to listen with our ears and our hearts and to be assured that our questions are just as important as our answers.”   Fred Rogers

“Don’t underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering”.    Winnie the Pooh

I was researching to help me write this post and came across the old song from the Beatles.  “Don’t Let Me Down”  It was  Written by John as an expression of his love for Yoko Ono, the song is heartfelt and passionate. As John told Rolling Stone magazine in 1970:

“When it gets down to it, when you’re drowning, you don’t say, ‘I would be incredibly pleased if someone would have the foresight to notice me drowning and come and help me,’ you just scream.”  John Lennon

I felt this was good, because not just in our love are we sometimes drowning, but in our lives of stress.   As we take it all in we are drowning.  We just want someone to notice and help.

How do we stop this and put the glass down.

I have seen this poster in a couple places on my journey, and it really lays it out, so I had to share.  What we do with our stress will make or break the way we think about other things.

Keeping stress out to help you become more productive in Life.

Here are some keys to help.

  1. Set your goal in your mind.  Don’t force it.  Don’t make the mistake of trying to figure out the how before it’s established.  Effort will be your defeat!
  2. Set it on automatic!   Keep your focus on the end result and the daily routine will become automatic.
  3. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. ….shoot….fire….aim.
  4. Any skill is truly learned by trial and error.
  5. Trust in yourself and let it happen. The spontaneity is a natural idea.

In the mental concept of thought, imagination sets off our creativity.   You realize your brain is one of the unknown wonders of the world.   Sometimes it is hard to explain why we think the way we do.   What is it that you do to yourself throughout your day that gets you all stressed out?   Learning ways to help with that will make you more productive and successful.

Do you have goals?  What is it that you want to achieve by the end of the day? Do you get yourself caught up in the worry of being let down, or stressed out so much that we don’t get anything done.   I have the help and support behind me, to guide me and pull me up from drowning.

Find the way to put the glass down.

Sandy

Great post Sandy. Yes stress is one of those things if you don’t start to get a hold of it it can start to spiral out of control. It’s better to get a handle on it and control it whichever way works for you. Exercise has always been my stress reliever. It’s meditation for others. Whatever way works just do it. Thanks for a great reminder!
