Do You Secretly Torture and Sabotage Yourself?

Do You Secretly Torture and Sabotage Yourself?

The last couple of days have been rough, do you secretly torture and sabotage yourself?   I did a necessary evil to make things better.

There are things in life that you must do that are not always your choice.  However, when you weigh the odds and look at the results, you know it is something you need to do.

I had been putting it off for quite a while and thought now would be the time to do it.  So I went and got a shingle vaccine.  Didn’t know it would make every muscle in my body ache. Hence, the torture!

Since going through everything with my husband, and my parents, now is the time to be the best I can.  Taking all the steps possible to stay healthy. So, I suffer to make things better. Therefore, my necessary evil.

I will say it gets better and now it is over to go enjoy life again.

How do I do it???

I choose mindset to overcome torture!

A person’s mindset determines how they perform at their tasks or in their learning. A study in 1988 by Dr Carol Dweck found that people who can master their mindset have a natural ability to remain motivated and adept at approaching challenges.

Those who have a flexible mind, seem to be more likely to embrace challenges and persist despite failures they may encounter.

You bring a different mindset for different areas of your life. When you get stuck or give up, that is considered a mindset that can’t grow. In such situations you need to change your mind (mindset) and commit to making a decision to push through and move forward. If you only concentrate on pain and agony, this will only hold you back. How you choose to push through and find solutions is all about your mindset.

Learn to overcome when sabotage hits

As a caregiver or just as a person, you need to commit to striving for new growth daily. Things that keep our minds more active and growing all the time will be beneficial to our needs and the needs of our loved ones. What you will gain by doing this is more free-will and a broad skillset to combat the ups and downs.

A new decision to your torture and sabotage

Let’s take a few more steps to getting your mindset laid out.  For instance a new direction to your thinking will overcome this torture and sabotage.

It takes time to learn this, yet here are some steps to use that will get you going.

  1.  Set aside some time everyday and commit to it.  Everyday push yourself a little harder, continuously asking: “Am I doing this because I feel it’s what I “should” do?”  And “How do I feel moving forward?”
  2. Think of it as learning a new language.  If you really want to become fluent you have to immerse yourself as frequently as possible.  Push your inner trust toward your goal.
  3. Start small and build everyday.  Ask the same questions till the answers come and then adjust to move on.
  4. Reflect on where you are going and see if it is the right way.  You must engage with all the feelings.  Push away the harmful ones and grab hold of the good ones.  Trust yourself to guide you.

Do you secretly torture and sabotage yourself? There are things in life that you must do that are not always your choice.  However, when you weigh the odds and look at the results, you know it is something you need to do.

Keep smiling

Sandy
