Journey Through The Pandemic Has Set A New Stage

Journey Through The Pandemic Has Set A New Stage

My journey has been a tough one, yet this journey through the pandemic has set a new stage. In other words, making a career at smiling through adversity has been my calling and this was how I survived.

If you do not know my story it comes from a long line of adversities. From dealing with hearing disabilities and cancer to Dementia and death. Now with the symptoms of a virus.

Were you wondering what it was for me? It seems the virus hits each and everyone just a little different, for instance, we are all different in very many ways.

The Pandemic and Me

I always get a cold spring and fall. Mostly due to changing the furnace filters.  It’s been that way since I was a little child.  My symptoms were the same, so I was not treating it any different and going about life like normal.

It wasn’t till my co-worker came down with a fever.  As she went into her doctor, now-a-days, it is mandatory to get the virus test.  She had two of the symptoms they were looking for.  Yes, you guessed it, she was positive, and with having a sore throat, I was sent in. Things are so contagious with this new pandemic going around.

Yes, to your question, I was positive also.  However, no fever for me.

Now the Journey Begins

What would you do when you are told to stay home and quarantine? First thing is to turn around in circles and say: “what do I need?” In other words, gather what you can think of and hope for the best.

Have two jobs, running a business from home and career outside my home.  With that, I have an office already set, so it might be easier for me than some.  I won’t get into what I do but will say there are some things that need to be done every day.  Hence, work had to continue.

Now, did I infect others? Interesting enough, no. My loved ones around me were all negative, so I suppose I was the lucky one.  If you have a little humor.  Also talking with others all our symptoms were different.

Tools For You to Gather

Journey in Quarantine

Once I had my results, home bound I went, it became my new normal for the next 10 days or more. I didn’t have a choice but do what needed to be done. In other words, just keep going.

You could say I was compromised before I was diagnosed because of my cold. Maybe I wouldn’t have gotten it.  You never know and now that it is over, I know how my body reacts.  Hence, I am one to research and learn how to cope with what life gives you.

What I noticed is that the virus makes your cold three times as bad. The sore throat, plugged head, achy body that zaps your energy.  The main thing is that it hangs on for quite some time.   And when you can’t smell anything that is just plain weird!

Every day I pushed on and did what was needed, just like I always do. Hence, I have learned to be the caregiver, not many things can slow me down.

Pandemic Does Not Stop Me

Staying at home meant the commute was shorter and lunch time could be done in your own kitchen.   That I could get used to, yet as the time past and I felt some symptoms leave, the cabin fever set in. I did one thing I tell others to do, (remember I always mention that you need a go to list) I got in the car and drove. For instance, finding the things that make you happy are the best things you need to help you feel better.

My journey through the pandemic is still ongoing but life is almost back to normal, or as normal as life can be right now. I do not wish sickness on anyone yet learning how to smile through adversity will help you make it to the other side.

P.S.   I have written down ways that helped me just move over to my shop and grab your copy.

Keep smiling

Sandy
