Other Side Of The Fence
Are things always better on the other side of the fence? Has Your WHY wondered?
It is amazing the things you see as your day glides along. I was driving and noticed a horse leaning way over the fence to get a bright colored flower to eat.
It got me thinking, like a lot of things do nowadays, and I wanted to share. You remember the old saying, “stop and smell the roses”? That saying isn’t just to slow us down, it is also for us to stop and notice the things that we do have. For instance, stop always thinking that things are better on the other side of the fence.
Life can be a wonderful thing when we learn how to enjoy and not pass up on what we have around us. Hence, stop thinking things are better on the other side of the fence.
What Limits do you take to acquire your freedom?
What safety will we not have if we explore?
These are questions we need to ask ourselves as we go through our everyday adventures. In other words, have you one day woken up and noticed that your WHY is all wrong; or it has gone in a direction that you never thought it would?
What Side of The Fence are You ON
What is life all about if we do not explore and see what is outside of our comfort zone. Which is the main goal we need to be true Entrepreneurs.
Looking back on the books that I have read in my journey, one sticks out with this subject. That one is “Start with Why” by Simon Sinek. If you haven’t read it, you should. It will help you get some clarity on your purpose. Hence, Making sure that you WHY is why you do things.
One particular chapter talks about when your WHY goes fuzzy. It captured my attention, because I have had some life changes that needed to shift my WHY. Then when I saw that horse reaching over the fence for the weeds, it got me thinking.
What was the purpose you set out to achieve? Stop for a minute and see if you are on the right path. What is it that has changed as you have gone along without noticing?
Success comes when we wake up everyday in that never-ending pursuit of WHY we do WHAT we do. In other words, our achievements serve as a milestone to indicate we are on the right road.
Other Side Looks The Same
No one can predict the future, so when life changes you, change with it. Do we take one step that leads to another and expect everything to fall into place? Or, are you already on the other side of the fence?
Here is a way to look at how life can change your direction and get you looking a little more over that fence. Ways to know that exploring isn’t all that bad when we know our purpose and where we have come from.
Not sure if you are a history buff or not, but I want to share with you a story that helped me in this movement of mine.
A man named Noah. It took him a year to build a project that he was ridiculed for and mocked at. He didn’t know the ending, just had a purpose that seemed so far-fetched but he stayed committed. He was looking at what he had but also had a glimpse of the other side of the fence. A Boat in the desert?
There are others who put their trust in something and just know it will happen, but when you lose that sight, you falter and fail.
Being The Chosen One to Go Over To the Other Side Of The Fence
We seem to wonder why things happen to us and not sure about you, but think that if we had this or that, things might be better. That is right, on the other side of the fence.
Or
Have you ever been pulled out of the crowd and told that you would be good at something that you never saw yourself doing? This happens more than you think. We tend to hide a lot of our skills, especially from ourselves.
What makes you change? Circumstances around you or was it not right for you? In other words, As we develop new things, others start to open up. Some might call it the shiny object syndrome, but don’t always dismiss it. If it seems to keep looking at you or showing its face against the fence then it might be part of your journey you were missing.
What does the term “other side of the fence” really mean? It is in a completely different situation or position from the one you are or used to be. Always looking forward and not behind.
Or …
Other side of the coin, and …
Other side of the picture or frame.
Can you see the pattern?
It can be a place where you are against a place you want to be.
Keep an open mind when you are making your goals, or shifting your goals and things will all fall into place. Hence, maybe the other side of the fence will be in your backyard.
Keep Smiling
Sandy
