Thinking of a new direction to show a story of what it looks like. Time to stop procrastinating and start writing again. Hence, now is a great time to inspire others and start sharing.
I once had a mentor tell me that you can’t truly tell a story if it hasn’t had some kind of ending. In other words, if you don’t know where you are going or how you are getting there, the story will have no meaning or as some say “guts”.
Guts of A New Direction
My issue was trying to tell bits and pieces of where life was going without the main guts. For instance, just saying how many books I have read, what bike rides I have taken, or where my travels have been didn’t give a good picture.
I think I figured it out and I want to share what I found with all of you. First off, get off the bandwagon and put something in front of you that will inspire.
Cleaning out a pile on my bookshelf gave me an idea. It was an old article on how to tell a story. However clean things can get, it doesn’t do the job if you don’t finish.
Show a Story
To show a story with character and interest you need a few things:
An Idea
Research and Exploring to teach
A device to write with
Storyboard and plan
Images
Putting it all together for it make sense
Sharing
Getting feedback
The idea is in your head. However, it might not relate to others, so you need to be a little more creative. How are you going to help someone else with what you write?
Time to plan your ideas out with a storyboard or pictures. I love pictures, it gives your imagination something to grasp while they read the words. For instance, an image sets the stage to draw the readers in and capture them to finish.
Put Your Story Together
Everyone is unique and what you do has your own lifestyle to it, but look around there is a story to tell. People learn from others, they capture ideas and mold them to fit.
With me, I write to heal, to grow, to explore. By doing this it gives me strength and helps me release some of my expectations. In other words, it creates new ideas and grows my confidence.
My new direction shows a story of how to create more happiness and overcome the day to day grind.
Time to start your story.
Keep Smiling
Sandy
