What Scares You Might Not Others

The situations of what scares you might not others.  However, you might be surprised at what is scary and what is not.

We just updated our bikes to go on more adventures.  Granted I haven’t ridden one for many years, but I hopped right on and took off.  It wasn’t till I was coming on to a corner, on a hill with a narrow path, that made my anxiety and fear come forward.  

I kept trying to tell myself I would be okay and my partner was forging forward like nothing was wrong.  It didn’t scare him.  Hence,   what scared me didn’t scare him!

Situations that Scare Us

Fear can mean many things to different people.  

Fear of the unknown

The Fear of getting sick

Fear of losing something special

How we look at the things that cause fear, is how we determine our level of it.  For instance, something we haven’t tried before can be scary.

Going down a dark alley or driving at night.  Being home alone in a thunderstorm.  

Does it happen all the time? 

Is there something we can do about it?

How can we fix it?

Change the Meaning of Scary

S = Smart

C = Courage

A = Action

R = Resilient

Y = Yes (I’ve got this)

Now see, not so scary after all.  When we start to see things in a different light we see how we can overpower it and bring it down to a level that we can conquer.

I love riding my bike!  We have had many adventures since then and my confidence is much better.  Not quite so scary, but I still have to be aware and handle each situation in a way I can control.

 If you are afraid of doing something yet you still want to do it, just remember what scares you might not others.  In other words, look for other people to help you along till you aren’t scared anymore.

Let’s learn how to smile through adversity. Life changes all the time, some good and some bad.

Look around, there are many things for you to ponder on and read.

Life changes all the time, some good and some bad.  However, most of it we can control or adapt to as we grow.   Then there are moments that are of the unknown.

Dealing with children, aging parents, dementia and cancer of a loved one, you tend to know change well.  In other words, if you learn to accept it and know that it is coming, it won’t hit you so hard.

Adversity comes in many forms and people handle it all different.  Adversity can be more than just difficulty or setback.   It can form a series of misfortunes that keep you from achieving lifes adventures or finding happiness. Everyone experiences adversity at some point, yet with hard work and the right mindset it can be overcome. 

Regardless of your situation, you do have a choice to either let adversity define you or you define it.   I am here to help you smile through your journey of adversity and teach you create the power to overcome pain and work through it to the other side.
