My question to you is what knocked you off the block again? I know, it was lost focus, your own foot got in the way, or a misunderstanding. Did I come close?
I have written a few blogs about loops and rollercoasters, mainly because I have been through a few in my life and wanted to share what I did. However, everyone seems to have different blocks that they get knocked off of.
Shapes Of Blocks
What kinds of blocks show up in your life? They can be all sorts of obstacles, even ones you don’t think about. Hence, things can change your attitude and outlook throughout the day.
Things I want to share are what throws me off. What knocked me for a curve or pushed me down. It’s time to start thinking and focusing on the little things.
Let’s go through the different blocks, then I will share how to stand tall and stay on.
The Curve
The first thing is the curve. Some might call it a loop or a lean. Did someone push you or pile things in front of you? Do you know what is around the corner? Does it scare you to look ahead or does the unknown have too many dark spots?
What we need to think about here is how our track in life is laid. Do we like where we are going? Do we need to tackle some of these obstacles and lay out different tracks?
The comfort zone you set can be too small and others may run all over you. Are you the kind to just agree so that it doesn’t cause friction? Don’t settle for that! I did and hated it.
The Stress
What is stress? For starters, it’s NOT you. It is caused by things around you. It could be too many things you need to do, it could be other people, or the expectations you think others have for you.
I know you are thinking of all the things right now. Make that list then start crossing them off.
The Misunderstanding
Misunderstandings happen all the time. We think one way and others another. In other words, we all think differently which is a good thing for no two people are exactly the same. How we confront this is the issue. If you learn to deal with this, your enemy might just become your friend. Or at least someone you can tolerate a little better.
Stand Your Ground
Let’s work now on standing your ground and making everyone happy, or at least yourself. For instance, working with our todo lists and other people so they are not stressing you out. Much for fun that way.
We are going to FACE IT! Name it and point out the problem. If you aren’t sure then start breaking down what you are doing and see where the aggravation comes from. Ask others to help. They might see what you don’t.
Next we are going to talk about it out loud. When you say things out loud they become real and get noticed. People might think you are talking to yourself, but so what. If it is another person, then ask them to talk with you. Find the issue and then find a solution.
Lastly, learn how others see it. In other words, BE IT! Put yourself in third person and look from the outside. Can you see how it can be dealt with differently?
Ways to stay focused
- What is it that you want? Do you have goals? We all have them, it’s just we might not know they are goals. Little ones are like getting the dishes done, or doing some laundry. Then there is cleaning your desk or paying bills. Running errands or keeping a schedule with your kids.
Goals do not have to be big ones, they come in all sizes. Like planning a trip or where you want to invest. It can be budgeting for a new house or setting up a vision board. (for me those never worked) Yet, if you do not set goals, things get piled up and the stress comes out.
- Once you have your goals, evaluate your plan. This is the track or road you are going to take to get them done. Set boundaries for yourself. Only you know how much you can get done in a certain amount of time.
- Be realistic. You have your evaluation and your goals set. Now sit back and look at what you have. Are you realistic in what you want? Are you trying to get too much done in a short amount of time? If there are deadlines then you might need to push and organize differently, but overall, space your time and enjoy life more and more. You might surprise yourself.
Now is the fun part where we put it all together. We are not going to get knocked off the block again because we know how things work for us. Make your plan and take action. Face it, talk about it, and then BE IT!

P.P.S If you need a recommended book to read which will get you back on track. I suggest Life’s Golden Ticket by Brandon Burchard. I love that book about second chances.
