Have you had a day where everything went as planned? What a great feeling that you wish you could have more of them. I can tell you right now that you can, if you know how to plan it out right.
Let’s dive into that and see what kind of planning is needed and why it is important to have one for your day. Hence, know what you want to accomplish before it even starts.
Starts With Planning
What is a plan? Is it a goal or a list of items? Do you need others or can it be done just by you? In other words, what do you want to get done?
I know that was a lot of questions, yet you need to know the what, when, how and why before you can get any sort of planning started. This can take a bit of thinking so let’s take the wandering out of the equation.
There is a quote that I love, but I am not sure who said it first.
“Change is inevitable, growth is optional”!
Did you get the picture? Change is going to happen either way, yet if you want to grow you need to give it a little effort. The planning and practice is your intentional growth.
All It Takes Is A Goal
We can all agree that we can make a list of things that need our attention, but where is the starting point before we throw in the towel? In other words, what needs to happen to get us going so we don’t give up!
Start by reading this book. I loved it and wow did he hit the nail on the head. He breaks down ideas into goals and shows you how to solve them. Hence, get “All It Takes Is a Goal” by Jon Acuff.
When you learn what, as in what to get done. Then we can switch over to the when.
Plan Your Day
Little things can make a big difference and when you follow Jon’s steps you will see when to get busy and when to change your course. For instance, finding what you really want and what you thought you wanted. Get the picture?
How to plan your day is totally up to you. I connected to the book because I can’t stand vision boards. They never worked for me, my goals were off. I didn’t truly connect with what I had on there. Not knowing that and then not being able to get steps moving in the right direction.
So the next key is to organize.
Organize How Your Day Is Planned
You are only going to know how to plan once you get started. Yes, I said that! Trial and error. If you really need a new direction or want to start something totally new, then yes make that list and start.
The list will start to show itself, good or bad. Focus on that and start to pinpoint areas where you feel you can improve or change. The little things do make a big difference.
I am going to leave you in your thoughts today with another quote I read every morning.
“To get through your troubles, Hang on to your wins”
Go and get it done
Sandy
