As I was studying the other day and reading some of my books, there was a point that kept sticking out. It was how to fine tune yourself. In other words, how to stay in tune with yourself.
Going through your day have you ever just stopped and thought about your balance, your tempo and your tension in what you are doing? We are going to find out what you want that needs improving and fine tune it, then you can take it with you throughout your day.
In Tune
Let’s think of tuning as a piano. Have you ever heard one out of key and it just drove you nuts? It’s much better when it is clear and pleasing. We have some tuning of our own, so let’s get started.
First thing to think about is our balance. I know, you are saying what does balance have to do with it. It is your body’s navigation system. It keeps us upright on many different surfaces. It is your center of gravity which comes from your eyes, ears, core and your feet. However, if that is off we just keep falling over or having trouble moving forward.
Stay In Tune With Balance
Staying in tune with balance, is being aware of the various dimensions that make up your being, your mind, body and spirit. Trusting your instincts is tuning in with your thoughts, emotions, instincts, images, sensations, impulses, desires, attachments, and other responses and stimuli. To summarize, all the things around us.
To improve this we need to notice our feelings by naming them. Accept your thoughts and emotions and deal with them. Engage in solo activities to learn to be with yourself. This helps us tune in and get to know who we are.
Fine Tune Your Tempo
Second aspect I will mention is tempo. Our actions, speed and energy levels. In other words, are we going too fast, too slow or just right?
Yes, your tempo can have a lot to do with being in tune with yourself. The faster you go, the more things can happen. Good or bad depending on your energy level or the quality of what is needed.
This is all body awareness. Do we get stressed or anxious? Or when things slow down, do we get frustrated? For us to get in tune, we need to have everything happen as a sequence for the action needed.
So an example. I am learning to play golf. It can be a difficult sport, but fun when it works. The tempo (sequence) is a big part. For if you are too slow with one part and too fast with another, the whole swing is off. You need a sequence that flows together.
Put that in your everyday life and you might surprise yourself on how well your day has gone. For Instance, pace yourself to accomplish your todo list and work around slower things and wow, look at what you did at the end of the day.
Fine Tune The Tension
The last thing I am going to add is tension. Have you ever caught yourself all tight and your jaw clenched? You seem to get snappy or ache by the end of the day. Hence, tension has come upon us.
Tension can resonate with our inner vibrations when the attention is not distracted outward. (Yes, I borrowed that description from Designing Destiny by Daaji) but when we become aware that we are tense or finding the things that create that atmosphere we can tune it in. Relieve it, and see a better outcome.
Reduce your stress, find the joy in what you are doing. Ask yourself what you want out of it. Be honest again about your answer and see there are ways to correct this.
When you have your balance, your tempo and your tension all in cinc the sequence works and you will see a different experience and change in the way you do things.
Just wanted to share,
Sandy
