Scary things can come at you from all directions. Some you are face to face with. Others you landed in the middle of, or things you had to pass through. Yet, Don’t let that stop you.
Looking back on the things I have done in life, I found a few things that helped and now it is more of a challenge than a fear. In other words, let’s look at what opportunities come from the scary ones.
Opportunity or Fear
Fear can bring on many opportunities if you look at it in a different way. It can be an opportunity to increase your skills, to learn from mistakes and set you up for situations that you might have been unprepared for. For instance, when you look at the scary thing you don’t react quite so bad.
Change the Meaning of Scary
S = Smart
C = Courage
A = Action
R = Resilient
Y = Yes (I’ve got this)
Where Do Scary Things Come From?
Scared of getting out of your comfort zone or being pushed.
Scared of getting hurt, physically or mentally.
Also, fear of things you know that are coming yet you do not want to face them.
I have said this before, there are other areas in my blog where you can see I have faced many kinds of adversity. However, now that I look back, I can see that what knocks you down will also be the same thing that forces you back up.
Embrace The Scary
So when you say that you wonder why you are here, that is where you are supposed to be. Embrace it and learn from it. Life will give you lessons that you will need later in life. However, you may not like it but that’s life. It’s scary!
This time of year can really make us crazy, we are going a hundred miles an hour in all directions. I have been forgetting things lately, because I put a lot on my plate. In other words, slow down for a minute.
This is where I need to stop and look around, set my sights on what I need to get done and then what I want to get done. Think KISS. (Keep It Simple Sweetie). My variation.
Scary is just fear. Fear can cause tension and disrupt flow or the tempo of what you are faced with. Collect yourself! Ground yourself!.
Close your eyes, walk yourself through, see how it works and breathe. Look at the opportunities that lie ahead and make the most of it.
Keep smiling and challenge yourself.
