Have you ever tried to describe your ideal day, or ideal moment? How about your ideal activity? You know, one that goes right all the way through. Hence, you were happy all day long.
Let’s give it some thought. Even if you have done this exercise before, it’s time to rewrite it. Seasons change, life changes and your pleasure changes, so why not your happy moments.
Your Ideal Day
I want to share something a little different. Not just what your day will look like, you know what you had for breakfast, how your schedule went smoothly from each step and to the end. I want you to get some ideas on what you truly like and how that can mesh with work and pleasure.
A question was brought to my attention when I was challenging myself to perform better. So here is the question: Are there parts of you as a ______ that do not mesh with you as a person? You add the activity you are doing into that and then find an answer.
When you know that one, then here is the next: within your “vision of greatness” what actions, beliefs, or thoughts would you want to ‘leave behind’?
If you answered those quickly, then good for you. However, I stumbled because it made me look at myself and dig deep. So deep I felt I needed to know myself a little better. I truly couldn’t answer the question easily.
Make Your Ideal Day
How do we make our ideal day? To start, be totally present and completely engaged in your activity. In other words, know what qualities you as a person have and how you can mesh with what you are doing.
So, how do we find ourselves? Let’s start by making a list of our favorites. You know your favorite food, color, clothes, hobbies. Are you an early riser or a night owl? Do you work better before lunch or after.
There are some who change their clothes many times during the day. Are you one of those? Do you drink coffee all day long? How about parties, some like some don’t. Get where I am going? Hence, find who you are and what you like.
Next, we need to learn to identify what we can control and what we can’t. Focusing only on the things we can control, like the attitude and atmosphere of our responses. Hence, this will make or break your day. (Look below and see other posts that deal with this also.)
Mesh the Ideal Day With Every Day
It can become easier to mesh your days when you find what you like and choose to live that way. Being totally present and completely engaged in your activities will get you started. Hence, find your favorites and incorporate them as you go.
Another way is to combine work and pleasure. That way each thing, hard or comfortable becomes one. In other words, you make it through the tough spots to get through to the fun spots, and in the end it all went smoothly.
How did your ideal day go? Were you happy all the way through? If not, list out the things that you need to work on. Cross out things that are out of your control and become aware of how to make the ideal day be everyday.
Be happy all day long
Sandy
