Have you ever had a bad haircut, or hair thinning? How about when you lose it due to illness? Does your hair define who you are? In other words, are you still the same person and or personality when that occurs?
To answer that, it is a strong yes. You are still you and how you bring that forward will give what is needed control. Hence, hair can and should not control you.
Hair comes with first impressions. It is a look you see when meeting someone and we all feel that sensation. Yet, unless you are always looking in a mirror you don’t know what you look like, especially to others.
Hair Defines
I had bangs and short hair most of my life. It was a haircut my mom gave me and that was what you got. I just recently grew those bangs out. Yes it took many years to get to this point. I thought my forehead looked funny. Little did I know, no one else did!
It was a belief that I had, I couldn’t see it but I could feel it. The way we look at ourselves can define who we are. For instance, when you look in the mirror and like what you see, you tend to walk taller, smile more and enjoy what you are doing.
Yet, on days when the hair has a mind of its own or just feels out of place, it can throw us off. It is an inner emotion that controls us. Learning to get past that and work a little more on our overall person, we can shine through anything.
What Truly Defines
Your life is yours and your choices are yours. If you want to have purple or green hair, that too is a choice. Not one I would make, but for those who do, they feel defined by being different.
Not everyone can have beautiful hair so let’s learn to take a look at the person first. Give them an interaction that doesn’t make them feel bad, you don’t know what they have been going through. In other words, the interaction from others can make or break your day.
Hair Being A Self-expression
First question I need to ask is if you can take a drastic change? It can be many things like color change, bad hair cut or hair loss. For instance, my son took scissors to his hair when he was little and wow!
Some changes are out of your control. That is when you need to come to terms with how you are inside, not just the look on the outside. Hence, when you have a shining personality others overlook things that are right in front of them.
I remember when my late-husband was going through Chemo. He was losing his hair and eventually all of it. He didn’t really like it, but it was out of his control and he chose to make a bad situation better. Again, it is a choice!
Defining the Good From The Bad
When you look in the mirror, what do you see? I mean really see! That is right, what defines you will shine through when you know and see what you want to see.
Learn to define the good from the bad and make sure the good shines more. In other words, don’t let your hair define the whole you, shine your good the brightest.
Smile Always
Sandy
