I thought I wasn’t a caregiver anymore. No that’s not right! I didn’t want to be one, but life hits whenever you are looking at it the wrong way and so, here we go again.
I am currently writing this with a broken wrist. Yep, that’s right, I am caring for me. In the meantime, I have been talking to people about my book, (see the side panel) and it hit me. Caregiving is part of our nature.
Adversities hit us every day, we just can’t always see them. I know things seem to happen in 3s, but when you have time to sit and look at it you start analyzing. Being one-armed right now I get tired of doing the daily routine and look for other ways to accomplish my tasks.
Who is your best teacher? Oh, I know you already came up with one, right? I can remember a few, but now . . . Looking back. It’s me! I haven’t learned everything, but I have learned from my mistakes and know quite a bit. Yes, pat me on the back.
I am going to share three things that came to me first.
- Take good care of yourself. Exercise and listen to your body. Eat accordingly and supplement when needed. For this you can enjoy adventures and heal faster as you age.
- Ask questions, get all the answers you never thought you needed. It can be amazing what comes up along the way. This might make life better. I have been jumping loopholes and finding more. Believe me it can be frustrating. Take a deep breath and try again.
- Get help. This can be hard for some I know. I do a lot of things on my own and am proud of that, but when you can’t there are many that will help. You don’t have to tackle the world on your own.
My final thought for now. Always keep caring for others, if not life will let you know and throw a bump in the road.
Sandy
