I had to make a decision, a choice. It was adapting to a change and making things fit. Creating a way to get through tough times.
We are creatures of habit and do as we are told. Most of the time that is great advice, but when it isn’t working to fit you, you need to adapt. I was at a cross road and something had to change. The question mark was sitting right in front of me.
Getting my broken wrist to work again and enjoy life my way is a struggle. Also finding ways to eat differently yet feed my family is also a struggle. Everyone needs to eat what their body needs.
Adapting to Change
I sat myself down the other day and said, hey, it’s not working we need a change. A modification in how we are doing things. So now how to start?
Have you ever looked ahead and planned for anything? It doesn’t matter what it is. How do you prepare for a party? A new family member? Or maybe a wedding? Where do you start? Put on your thinking caps and let you mind work.
How do we get ready for things?
Do you clean and prepare a meal?
Do you make a plan or a budget?
Do you decorate?
Do you make a list of what is needed?
It is time to look at where we are and where we want to be. I know, I sound like a self help book. Done that, move on. Looking back I stopped and started so many things that now I need to be a little selfish.
Creating to Make Things Fit
I made a choice, a decision to go above and beyond. I am getting back into shape, pushing through and adapting along the way. So the wrist doesn’t have strength and work the same as before, but how can I work around that. There are options, I just need to find them.
First thing I did was modify my brace. My cast is off and the exercises have started. I am following doctors orders but I want to exercise because the rest of my body is suffering also.
As we all know there is more than one way to accomplish tasks. Anything to get you to the goal you are looking for is the right way for you. There are certain things my wrist can’t do, but adapting and modifying I still can. Just needed to find a way.
It Takes Change to Make It!
Next is eating differently. Knowing I have a lot of arthritis and inflammation I can’t or shouldn’t eat certain things. Yet, others in my household need what I can’t have. How to prepare a meal for that. How can you adjust and adapt?
I am not a chef and actually do not like to cook. Yet I have been studying and looking for ways to remedy my issue without eating out constantly. That can become a budget breaker. Making meals for one is also hard. So the challenge begins.
I am making a list and comparing items from those lists. Finding similarities and recipes that will help. Compromising here and there to meet the final goal. The more I study the more things come to light.
I am glad I sat myself down and made a decision for when you start making the mind think possibilities come to you and adapting is easier. Pieces start to fit.
Get thinking and make things fit for you.
