Just Do it vs Doing It Right

Just Do it vs Doing It Right

Are you not quite sure on how to do something, and you want to do it right?  I can tell you that your first step it to just do it!

If you’re not quite sure what IT is …. Then we have more to talk about.  Check this post out on the Meaning of Accomplishment.

This seems really cool and that is fantastic, but my doubt gets in the way.  Can I Do IT?

…….You don’t want to mess it up,

…….You don’t want to look funny,

…….You want it to look perfect.

Well,   I will tell you to “Just Do IT!”

You will never know how good it is until you do.  You will never know what you did wrong or right until you actually go out and DO IT!  What Do you want to do, or thought about trying?  I have been watching so many people find their true potential by just trying something new.

It doesn’t matter what “it” is.  Just Do IT.

The “it” will come.  Think about this more for a minute.   I don’t know how many times I changed the name of my blog, or my Facebook page until I found what I wanted.  But if I hadn’t started I never would have evolved to what it is now.

Life is about trying things, if you struggle or fall off, you just need to get back up and try again.  Kind of like riding your bike.  Or going underwater and not drinking half of the pool or the lake.   Been there, done that.

Where does your motivation come from?  Here are some of the things that I do everyday.

…………  I Read

………… I Listen to audiose.  It is hearing from people who are actually doing what it is that I want to do.  (what is it?  Create success)

………… and I share and write.    Our stories are information for others.

What is it that you like to do?

What about Doing it Right

Number 1 thing about not knowing, is not starting.  How do you know if something is right or wrong if you never tried it before.   I once had a comment on a post, where this person said they did it, they quit their job and never realized how bad it was till they found something new.

Does that make you really wonder why on earth do we stick with something that we just do not like.  Mainly that J O B.  Is it because  we have just settled.

Why do people hold themselves back?

These are questions that have been going through my mind lately as I read and get inspiration.  The world is so big and I have more to give. I am taking a chance, are you?  Do you not know how or just not where to start?

Let me take you on a journey of how I found myself and where I am going.  Being a career wife and mother of two, I did my share of running the household, bring in the bread and keeping everything in line.   What I didn’t realize was I lost myself.  I could see that the walls seemed to be closing in.   I was frustrated at work.  I felt I had more to give.  I wanted my true potential to be seen.

I needed a change, but didn’t know what or where to go to get it.   I thought money would be the answer.  So that is where I started.  Looking online for any little thing there was. I found myself starting a blog……first thing they said to do was to write about what I liked and tell my story.

I found myself staring at the screen, not knowing what to do.   Who was I, what was I suppose to write about?   Writing was new,  I always worked with numbers.

So,  I just did it.  I said “Just Do It”

From there it evolved, but if I hadn’t started I would never be where I am today.   I love my life, my new adventures.  Everything is fresh, inspiring, motivating and changing.

What I want to share with you is that if you do not take that first step and try, you will never know what you are capable of doing.   You do not have to be perfect, right all the time.   Just Do it.!!

Sandy

    HI

It is funny thing many great things were created because the owners took the first action. Once the first action was taken, more ideas will come out.

Totally agree, just do it, and better do it right.

    Hello Sandy,

I can’t recall where i saw this quote but it reads, “have you buolt your castles in the air? Good! That’s the right place they should be… now go under them and start building a foundation”.

We all have dreams (castles), many atimes they sound unrealistic to others, if you never start off (build a foundation), those castles would be carried away by the wind.

    JUST DO IT!!!

So much inspiration fro you Sandy!

    Hey Sandy,

I could not agree with more. I love the idea of creating something from nothing. It can’t be wrong if I have not created it yet. But before I venture into it. I think about it, plan for it. As you said while your in the process of doing it, things start to develop on their own and if they don’t I always use the back up – I may not know what I want in this project, but I can always tell you what I don’t want. So I go from there.

For me just do it means setting a time up for this new venture and then just doing it. Thanks for the reminder.

    Rachel.

Look at it not with fear, but with learning. I bet you have learned a lot from those slip-ups. Just turn your thoughts around. I have a book for you to read. Its the “Book of Afformations” by Noah St. John. He teaches us how turn turn our thinking from the negative to the positive. It really helped my see that by saying something just a little different will give it a whole different look. Have a look, I bet it will help you.

    Hi Sandy

Just do it. Great theme for a blog post. Interesting that the Nike company uses that phrase is their company mantra – it’s also their registered trademark.

Too many people agonise about taking action. What’s wrong here? No sense of urgency, and fear of making a mistake (hence their obsession with making it perfect) are two reasons.

People should heed your advice on this post

    Thanks Sandy

    Kim

Great post, just loved your quotes. Most people are too scared to try something as it moves them out of their comfort zone.. Loved your daily activities

So true. There’s never a perfect time or the perfect way, so you need to just try. That’s what I need to do when submitting my writing. It will never be perfect, so I’m just going to do it.

I love doing it and doing it right but I fear neither! I think you have to dream big and accept the fact that we may stumble.

  23. Julie Avatar

I like this. I’ve spent too much time putting things off because they weren’t perfect when I should have just been trying them. This is a great reminder.

    Hi Sandy,

    Wise words.

I remember when I started writing my first book. I had NO idea what I was doing – but thankfully, I didn’t let that stop me.

There were many things I had no idea how I would begin – but, as you’ve said here – just do it.

I think a lot of people will be able to relate to this, no matter what the situation. From a parenting perspective, there isn’t a manual of how to raise your kids and only you can decide how to raise your kids “right” (by your standards of right). So really you just have to take the big leap forward and jump right into parenting head on, just like you should with any other task at hand. So what if you don’t have instructions. Try and if you don’t succeed, try again!

This is an excellent post with some great quotes! I just spoke with someone who was afraid to try yoga, though she desperately wanted to, because she didn’t want to look like a “fool” in the studio. Gosh I hate when we limit ourselves this way! I like your just-do-it mentality. Sometimes we have to step into our own heads and tell our self-defeating thoughts to fly south. Ya know?

Great post today Sandy. I have put off my life for years….now I have that JUST DO IT attitude!!!

  28. Katie Avatar

I have always been the girl to dream big, figure out a plan and then JUST DO IT. After some slip-ups, I’m finding myself more and more afraid but working to get back to a place of just taking the leap of faith and doing it!
